"...and indeed it is...to some mortals who have the quantity of brain and trouble in life enough to keep them occupied with their worrying thoughts for a really long time. Here comes the time when your imagination comes in handy. An imagination free from the grasp of the heavy word "Reality" can sometimes work as a bottle of Elixir!
I remember the time when I was young and would always look forward to the time every night when Ma would switch off the light of my bedroom and I could be free...free with all my visions and dreams...when my imagination would draw so many colorful pictures of the future on the canvas of the night...Those dreams would keep me away from the horrible misery of school everyday. Yes, school life is not all sunshine and lollipop for everyone I am afraid. :-)
Now when I am older, I am having my fare share of meetings with "Reality", Gosh the word sounds Horrendous!!! Einstein said "Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one." Indeed it is. It would follow you like you dear little puppy dog!!! Only exceptions that you do not love it and it certainly does not qualify to be called as "Cute". :(
Freud tried to sooth us with ..."Illusions commend themselves to us because they save us pain and allow us to enjoy pleasure instead. We must therefore accept it without complaint when they sometimes collide with a bit of reality against which they are dashed to pieces." Reality always collides with imaginations but that does not stop us from imagining things. Imagine what would have happened if Jule Verne had thought of entertaining "Reality" while writing "Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea" where he so precisely described a ship which could go anywhere under the sea even when its miles under the water level!!! Sub-marines would not have been made...even if they did, who can say it would not have taken us decades to build it? Picasso is right... "Everything you can imagine is real". Only a true artist could have said that.
So My Dear Watson, DO NOT bind yourself with all the "feasibility tests" of "Practicality" or "Reality" of somethings you really want to do. Dream whatever you want, Imagine things which would even make Spielberg astonished. :-) Our hearts are too weak to keep us alive for hundreds of years. We have a few moments to live this even-changing opera of life. If we spend most of it by worrying, then God Save Us!!! "Reality is too much to take in heapfuls, but sprinkle it sparingly upon life's path and most can tread it lightly."
