I have heard many a times people say, 'I am very simple, I am an open book'...this particular phrase is supposed to make us feel that the person is very easy to understand.
But, lets take it from a more realistic point of view...you go to a library where they keep all the books open...you can not see the title or the authore's name or the publisher's name...and you are looking for ...suppose, a book on philosophy...so now, you are stuck with hundreds of "open books"...and you have to read at least one paragraph of each book to get a faint idea about the subject matter...Sounds good!!
I would rather feel comfortable with a person who says "I am normally a closed book, but if you find me interesting, you can browse through the pages"...would save me a lot of time...
